The history of Atlantis

The history of Atlantis is marked by the rise of three successive empires. The first is the Old Empire merely because it co-existed with Lemuria. At its climax, it brings about Lemuria’s destruction. The second is called the Middle Empire. It rules from approximately 25,000 to 15,000 B.C. The last or New Empire covers Atlantis’s final 3,000 years. Dear Hearts, let us start this overview with the Middle Empire.

After the destruction of Lemuria, the Atlantean elites were confronted with two important questions. First, how best to reconstruct Earth’s governments and retain their supremacy? The Atlanteans’ envisioned a system capable of perpetuating their own supreme authority. Second, how would the remaining daughter empires coexist under this new Atlantean authority?

Initially, the creation of a new balance of power was difficult for Atlantis to achieve. Their first attempt involved an interim government. This government was no more than a modified Lemurian clan structure headed by a supreme royal council. The headquarters for this global government was located in Atlantis at its capital of Posedia.

At first, many daughter states paid little heed to the Atlanteans and their newly obtained authority. This resulted in the outbreak of a series of minor but treacherous civil wars across the planet. The Atlanteans realized that a show of force was necessary to gain control. For this difficult task, the Atlanteans used the artificial moon from the long destroyed Maldek. Originally, they had introduced this imitation as a new second moon in order to balance Mother Earth. Now, with its holographic interior and instrument filled hollow core, it was to be used to gain necessary military superiority. Dispatched from their artificial lunar bases, the Atlantean fighter forces easily controlled the various rebellions.

Sporadic rebellions were fought throughout the entire 10,000 year period of the Middle Empire. These conflicts caused the Atlantean rulers a great deal of soul-searching distress. These feelings were amplified by the actions of Pleadean and Centurian renegades who were beginning to take control of the many clan and other governing councils of the Atlantean elite.

The off-worlders were vociferous in demanding that any members of the Atlantean elite opposing the anti-Lemurian faction be severely punished. These dictators caused a prolonged period of terrorism, torture, and demagogic inquisitions. It left Atlantis’ rulers even more upset and increasingly at odds over what to do.

A dilemma was developing that the Atlantean Elites were not able to easily resolve. It was centred around a single question. How could an Atlantean government be stable and powerful enough to govern planet Earth? Of their many ill-fated attempts to solve this puzzle, the most significant was their concept of creating a ‘god force’ or ‘supreme rights’ ruler. When many other efforts were unsuccessful, the royal governing council of Atlantis decided that a drastic new form of government was definitely required.

During the Old Empire in the time of Lemuria, Atlantis had been subdivided into ten ruling districts. Each one had its own king. These ten regional kings came together and formed the ruling council of Atlantis. As the last vestiges of the Middle Empire faded into history, the Atlanteans revived this former governing concept and restored the ten kingships.

However, this time they added the position of a paramount king to be chosen from among the 10. This chief king reigned for a set period of time. Originally, this was 25 years, but later it was reduced to only 10. Meanwhile the other nine kings functioned as the selected king’s privy council. The off-worlders approved this plan, and the new ‘royal’ ruling council was immediately appointed.

By the end of the Middle Empire, this system of governance had been firmly established in Atlantis. With it, a period of harmony and stability was ushered in. As the Middle Empire ended, the younger generation of the ruling clique began to perceive that the Atlanteans system of government had failed. They demanded that the former Lemurian system be reinstated.

Because of their protest, the rebellious young elites were exiled to what the Atlanteans called Ionia. Today, this is part of present-day southern Europe (remains can be found on the island of Santorini of the coast of Italy). There they remained as exiles from their former homeland. Only submission to the authority of the supreme ruler and his council could return them from exile.

This eclectic group of young exiles consisted mainly of siblings of the ruling elite. It was also sprinkled with some of Atlantis’ leading scientists and administrators. They joined together and quickly hatched a plan of their own. They decided to covertly create on Ionia a government similar to that of the ancient Lemurian Empire.

The major objective of this underground movement was to support the Osirian cult of Lemuria named in honour of the Sirians. It was the Sirians who first brought human civilization to Lemuria. This Osirian cult quickly became a major underground spiritual and political force throguhout Atlantis.

About 2,000 years into the New Empire, the Osirian cult had become quite influential and flourished among the families of the ruling elite. This greatly worried the off-worlders. Eventually, the Atlantean ruling council decided that the illegal Ionian government needed to be severely punished. They chose a method similar to the one they had previously used to devastate Lemuria.

Again, the Atlanteans approached the Pleiadean, Centaurian, and other off-world allies. They asked for assistance in destroying Ionia. However, Ionia’s scientists, familiar with the technology that had destroyed Lemuria, cleverly developed an early warning system. This system was capable of alerting them to any changes in the orbit of Earth’s remaining natural moon. In this way, the Ionians were able to repel the Atlantean assault. It was their intention to eventually destroy Atlantis and fully restore the Lemurian Empire.

The continued growth of the Ionian forces and their comrades in Atlantis marked them for immediate destruction by the off-worlders. King Atlas, who was Atlantis’ last paramount ruler remained sympathetic to the Ionian cause. He had even named his eldest son Osiris in honour of the Lemurian cult. King Atlas discerned that the off-worlders’ evil plot was doomed. In addition, he realized that the off-world rebels and their Atlantean ruling council supporters intended to kill him and his immediate family. These events would probably happen before the plotters’ dark forces could be crushed and forever banished from Earth.

On the eve of the ill-fated attack, a major question preoccupied the rulers of Atlantis. To what extent would the Ionians respond to Atlantis’ sudden attack? The issue of how strongly Atlantis’ attack would be countered by the Ionians also deeply troubled Osiris’ younger brother, the Emperor Seth. He was appointed ruler of the Lybian/Egyptian Empire.

In response to the growing danger, King Atlas took decisive action. Just before Ionia’s destruction, he ordered Queen Mu and his son, Prince Osiris, to take separate journeys. These were to be embarked upon in order to carry out certain prescribed exercises in different parts of the worldwide Atlantean Empire.

Atlas ordered his Queen and her elder brother, Prince Mayam (chief general of Atlantean armed forces), to go to the Empire of Mayam in Central America. During this visit, he was instructed to carry out a number of prescribed military exercises. In this way, Prince Mayam was able to take out most of the army with him on his journey to Mayam in south central Mexico. There, a major underground movement sympathetic to the restoration of Lemuria waited to embrace Atlas’ army as well as his Queen and her elder brother.

At the same time, Atlas directed his son Prince Osiris, and his daughter Princess Isis (Osiris’ consort), to accompany many priests and special record keepers who were still secretly loyal to the Osirian cult. Their destination was the Libyan/Egyptian Empire. In accordance with Atlantean tradition, Osiris as Atlantis’ heir-apparent would become the new ruler of the Libyan/Egyptian Empire if he decided to take up a permanent residence there.

And so, on that fateful night (13,000 years ago), the Atlanteans and their off world allies initiated the attack on Ionia. Ionias early warning detection system alerted them to the impending danger and they took immediate action, obliterating the moon as it passed over Atlantis. The ensuing devastation destroyed the continent of Atlantis over night.

 

The Secret of Kabbalah

Kabbalah is an interpretation (exegesis, hermeneutic) key, “soul” of the Torah (Hebrew Bible), or the religious mystical system of Judaism claiming an insight into divine nature.

The term “Kabbalah” was originally used in Talmudic texts, among the Geonim, and by early Rishonim as a reference to the full body of publicly available Jewish teaching. In this sense Kabbalah was used in referring to all of known Oral Law. Over time it became a reference to doctrines of esoteric knowledge concerning God, God’s creation of the universe and the laws of nature, and the path by which adult religious Jews can learn these secrets.

Kabbalah, according to the more recent use of the word, stresses the esoteric reasons and understanding of the commandments in the Torah, and the occult cause of events described in the Torah. Kabbalah includes the understanding of the spiritual spheres of creation, and the ways by which God administers the existence of the universe.

According to Jewish tradition dating from the 13th century, this knowledge has come down as a revelation to elect saints from a remote past, and preserved only by a privileged few. It is considered part of the Jewish Oral Law by the majority of religious Jews in modern times, although this was not agreed upon by many Talmudic and medieval scholars, as well as many modern liberal rabbis and a minority of Orthodox rabbis.

According to adherents of Kabbalah, the origin of Kabbalah begins with the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible). According to Midrash, God created the universe with “Ten utterances” or “Ten qualities.” When read by later generations of Kabbalists, the Torah’s description of the creation in the Book of Genesis reveals mysteries about the godhead itself, the true nature of Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life, as well as the interaction of these supernal entities with the Serpent which leads to disaster when they eat the forbidden fruit, as recorded in Genesis 2.

The Bible provides ample additional material for mythic and mystical speculation. The prophet Ezekiel’s visions in particular attracted much speculation, as did Isaiah’s Temple vision (Chapter 6). Jacob’s vision of the ladder to heaven is another text providing an example of a mystical experience. Moses’ experience with the Burning bush and his encounters with God on Mount Sinai, are all evidence of mystical events in the Tanakh, and form the origin of Jewish mystical beliefs.

Jewish mystical traditions always appeal to an argument of authority based on antiquity. As a result, virtually all works pseudepigraphically claim or are ascribed ancient authorship. For example, Sefer Raziel HaMalach, an astro-magical text partly based on a magical manual of late antiquity, Sefer ha-Razim, was, according to the kabbalists, transmitted to Adam (after being evicted) by the angel Raziel. Another famous work, the Sefer Yetzirah, supposedly dates back to the patriarch Abraham. According to Apocalyptic literature, esoteric knowledge, such as magic, divination, and astrology, was transmitted to humans in the mythic past by the two angels, Aza and Azaz’el (in other places, Azaz’el and Uzaz’el) who ‘fell’ from heaven (see Genesis 6:4).

This appeal to antiquity has also shaped modern theories of influence in reconstructing the history of Jewish mysticism. The oldest versions of the Jewish mysticism have been theorized to extend from Assyrian theology and mysticism. Dr. Simo Parpola, a researcher at the University of Helsinki, has made some suggestive findings on the matter, particularly concerning an analysis of the Sefirot. Noting the general similarity between the Sefirot of the Kabbalah and the Tree of Life of Assyria, he reconstructed what an Assyrian antecendent to the Sepiroth would look like.

He matched the characteristics of En Sof on the nodes of the Sepiroth to the gods of Assyria, and was able to even find textual parallels between these Assyrian gods and the characteristics of god. The Assyrians assigned specific numbers to their gods, similar to how the Sepiroth assigns numbers to its nodes. However, the Assyrians use a sexagesimal number system, whereas the Sepiroth is decimal. With the Assyrian numbers, additional layers of meaning and mystical relevance appear in the Sepiroth. Normally, floating above the Assyrian Tree of Life was the god Assur, this corresponds to En Sof, which is also, via a series of transformations, derived from the Assyrian word Assur.

Jewish forms of esotericism did, however, exist over 2,000 years ago. Ben Sira warns against it, saying: “You shall have no business with secret things” (Sirach iii. 22; compare Talmud Hagigah 13a; Midrash Genesis Rabbah viii.).

Apocalyptic literature belonging to the second and first pre-Christian centuries contained some elements that carry over to later Kabbalah. According to Josephus such writings were in the possession of the Essenes, and were jealously guarded by them against disclosure, for which they claimed a hoary antiquity (see Philo, “De Vita Contemplativa,” iii., and Hippolytus, “Refutation of all Heresies,” ix. 27).

That books containing secret lore were kept hidden away by (or for) the “enlightened” is stated in IV Esdras xiv. 45-46, where Pseudo-Ezra is told to publish the twenty-four books of the canon openly that the worthy and the unworthy may alike read, but to keep the seventy other books hidden in order to “deliver them only to such as be wise” (compare Dan. xii. 10); for in them are the spring of understanding, the fountain of wisdom, and the stream of knowledge.

Instructive for the study of the development of Jewish mysticism is the Book of Jubilees written around the time of King John Hyrcanus. It refers to mysterious writings of Jared, Cain, and Noah, and presents Abraham as the renewer, and Levi as the permanent guardian, of these ancient writings.

It offers a cosmogony based upon the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet, and connected with Jewish chronology and Messianology, while at the same time insisting upon the heptad (7) as the holy number rather than upon the decadic (10) system adopted by the later haggadists and the Sefer Yetzirah.

The Pythagorean idea of the creative powers of numbers and letters was shared with Sefer Yetzirah and was known in the time of the Mishnah (before 200 CE).

Early elements of Jewish mysticism can be found in the non-Biblical texts of the Dead Sea Scrolls, such as the Song of the Sabbath Sacrifice. Some parts of the Talmud and the midrash also focus on the esoteric and mystical, particularly Chagigah 12b-14b.

Many esoteric texts, among them Hekalot Rabbati, Sefer HaBahir, Torat Hakana, Sefer P’liyah, Midrash Otiyot d’Rabbi Akiva, the Bahir, and the Zohar claim to be from the talmudic era, though it is clear now that some of these works, most notably the Bahir and Zohar, are actually medieval works pseudepigraphically ascribed to the ancient past.

In the medieval era Jewish mysticism developed under the influence of the word-number esoteric text Sefer Yetzirah. Jewish sources attribute the book to the biblical patriarch Abraham, though the text itself offers no claim as to authorship. This book, and especially its embryonic concept of the “sefirot,” became the object of systematic study of several mystical brotherhoods which eventually came to be called baale ha-kabbalah – possessors or masters of the Kabbalah”.

The Western Esoteric (or Hermetic) Tradition, a precursor to both the neo-Pagan and New Age movements, differs from the Jewish form in being a more admittedly syncretistic system. However it shares many concepts with Jewish Kabbalah.

Hermetic Kabbalah probably reached its peak in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a 19th-century organization that was arguably the pinnacle of ceremonial magic (or, depending upon one’s position, its ultimate descent into decadence).

Within the Golden Dawn, Kabbalistic principles such as the ten Sephiroth were fused with Greek and Egyptian deities, the Enochian system of angelic magic of John Dee, and certain Eastern (particularly Hindu and Buddhist) concepts within the structure of a Masonic- or Rosicrucian-style esoteric order. Many of the Golden Dawn’s rituals were published by the legendary occultist Aleister Crowley and were eventually compiled into book form by Israel Regardie, an author of some note. The credibility of Crowley is inconsistent at best, though, as many of the rituals published were actually manipulated versions.

Crowley made his mark on the use of Kabbalah with several of his writings; of these, perhaps the most illustrative is Liber 777. This book is quite simply a set of tables relating various parts of ceremonial magic and Eastern and Western religion to thirty-two numbers representing the ten spheres and twenty-two paths of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life.

The attitude of syncretism embraced by Hermetic Kabbalists is plainly evident here, as one may simply check the table to see that Chesed “Mercy” – corresponds to Jupiter, Isis, the color blue (on the Queen Scale), Poseidon, Brahma, and amethysts. These associations are not shared with the Jewish Kabbalah.

Although popular within certain groups, especially the Thelemic Orders such as the O.T.O., Crowley is not without critics. Dion Fortune, a fellow initiate of the Golden Dawn, disagreed with Crowley. Samael Aun Weor has many significant works that discuss Kabbalah within many religions, such as the Egyptian, Pagan, and Central American religions, which is summarized in his work The Initiatic Path in the Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah.

Fiction — Umberto Eco’s 1989 novel Foucault’s Pendulum weaves Kaballistic concepts into an imagined global conspiracy involving Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry, druidism, and the Knights Templar. The book’s ten sections are named after the ten Sefiroth.

The Kabala is presented, symbolically in the form of The Tree of Life.

The Tree contains ten centers called sephiroth. In a numerological sense, the Tree of Sephiroth has significance. Between the 10 Sephiroth run 22 channels or paths which connect them, a number which can be associated with the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.

In addition to each of this channels being assigned a letter of this alphabet, each path is also identified with one of the major trumps of the Tarot deck of symbolic cards. When combined with the 10 Sephiroth, these 22 paths make the number 32 which makes reference to the 32 Qabbalistic Paths of Wisdom and also the 32 degrees of Freemasonry.

To envision the tree, consider each of these ten spheres as being concentric circles with Malkuth being the innermost and all others encompassed by the latter. None of these are separate from the other, and all simply help to form a more complete view of the perfected whole.

To speak simply, Malcuth is the Kingdom which is the physical world upon which we live and exist, while Kether, also call Kaether and Kaether Elyson is the Crown of this universe, representing the highest attainable understanding of God that men can understand.

Hypothetically there also exists an Eleventh Sephirah called Daath. According to Karen Chapdelaine, its meaning is the Abyss and its universal element is Neptune which makes it an important element of the Tree of Sephiroth.

It should be noted, however, that the first Qabbalists did not include any such sphere, making Daath a contested point of philosophical discussion. The Jewish Kabbalists that do accept this entity state that it is not a Sephirah, but rather that absence of one. In the Jewish tradition, the idea of an eleventh Sephirah is tantamount to blasphemy, as stated in the Sefer Yetzirah: “Ten Sephirot of Nothingness, ten and not nine, ten and not eleven.”

The ancient symbol of Flower of life

The Flower of Life is the modern name given to a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a sixfold symmetry like a hexagon. The center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter.

The “Flower of Life” can be found in all major religions of the world. It contains the patterns of creationas they emerged from the “Great Void”. Everything is made from the Creator’s thought.
After the creation of the Seed of Life the same vortex’s motion was continued, creating the next structure known as the Egg of Life.
This structure forms the basis for music, as the distances between the spheres is identical to the distances between the tones and the half tones in music. It is also identical to the cellular structure of the third embryonic division (The first cell divides into two cells, then to four cells then to eight). Thus this same structure as it is further developed, creates the human body and all of the energy systems including the ones used to create the Merkaba. If we continue creating more and more spheres we will end up with the structure called the Flower of Life.

It is considered by some to be a symbol of sacred geometry, said to contain ancient, religious value depicting the fundamental forms of space and time. In this sense, it is a visual expression of the connections life weaves through all sentient beings, believed to contain a type of Akashic Record of basic information of all living things.

There are many spiritual beliefs associated with the Flower of Life; for example, depictions of the five Platonic Solids are found within the symbol of Metatron’s Cube, which may be derived from the Flower of Life pattern. These platonic solids are geometrical forms which are said to act as a template from which all life springs.

Another notable example of that which may be derived from the Flower of Life is the Tree of Life. This has been an important symbol of sacred geometry for many people from various religious backgrounds. Particularly, the teachings of the Kabbalah have dealt intricately with the Tree of Life.

According to Drunvalo Melchizedek, in the Judeo-Christian tradition, the stages which construct the Seed of Life are said to represent the seven days of Creation, in which Elohim (God/concept of divinity) created life; Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 23:12, 31:16-17, Isaiah 56:6-8. Within these stages, among other things, are the symbols of the Vesica Piscis (an ancient religious symbol) and Borromean rings (which represents the Holy Trinity).

Flower of Life in History and Culture

Egypt

The Temple of Osiris at Abydos, Egypt contains the oldest known examples of the Flower of Life. Precisely how old these inscriptions are is unknown. Suggestions that they are over 6,000 years old and may date back to as long ago as 10,500 B.C. or earlier are entirely speculative and not based on any factual reality.

The most recent research shows that these symbols can be no earlier than 535 B.C. and most probably date to between the 2nd and 4th century AD, based upon photographic evidence of Greek text, still to be fully deciphered, seen alongside the Flower of Life circles and the position of the circles close to the top of columns, which are over 4 metres in height. This suggests the Osirion was half filled with sand prior to the circles being drawn and therefore likely to have been well after the end of the Ptolemaic dynasty.

Possibly five Flower of Life patterns can be seen on one of the granite columns and a further five on a column opposite of the Osirion. Some are very faint and hard to distinguish. They have not been carved into the granite being drawn in red ochre with careful precision.

Christianity

Christianity has many symbolic connections to the Flower of Life. Most notably, the Seed of Life and components within the Seed of Life have strong Christian meaning to them. Such components are the Spherical Octahedron, Vesica Piscis, Tripod of Life, and Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Also the symbol of Metatron’s Cube is delineated by a component of the Flower of Life and has appeared in Christian art.

Kabbalah / Judaism

The Kabbalah, which has historically been studied by the followers of Judaism, holds some symbolic connections to the Flower of Life.

The symbol of the Tree of Life, which may be derived from the design of the Flower of Life, is studied as part of the teachings of the Kabbalah.

Additionally, the symbol of Metatron’s Cube, found by connecting the centers of each circle in the Fruit of Life, is seen in early Kabbalist scriptures.

New Age

In New Age thought, the Flower of Life has provided what is considered to be deep spiritual meaning and forms of enlightenment to those who have studied it as sacred geometry.There are groups of people all over the world who derive particular beliefs and forms of meditation based (at least in part) on the Flower of Life. FlowerofLife.org, for example, coordinates workshops at locations all over the world, in which they teach their New Age beliefs, methods, and interpretations of the Flower of Life.

Other Religions

The concept of the Tree of life has been adopted by some Hermeticists and pagans. The symbol of the Tree of Life may be derived from the Flower of Life.

One of the earliest known occurrences of the Vesica Piscis, and perhaps first, was among the Pythagoreans, who considered it a holy figure. The Vesica Piscis is a basic component of the Flower of Life.

Alchemy

Components of the Flower of Life have been a part of the work of Alchemists. Metatron’s Cube is a symbol derived from the Flower of Life which was used as a containment circle or creation circle.

Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci studied the Flower of Life’s form and its mathematical properties. He drew the Flower of Life itself, as well as various components such as the Seed of Life. He drew geometric figures representing shapes such as the platonic solids, a sphere, a torus, etc., and also used the golden ratio of phi in his artwork; all of which may be derived from the Flower of Life design.

The “Seed of Life” is formed from seven circles being placed with sixfold symmetry, forming a pattern of circles and lenses, which acts as a basic component of the Flower of Life’s design.

According to some researchers, the Seed of Life is a symbol of depicting the seven days of creation in which God created life; Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 23:12, 31:16-17, Isaiah 56:6-8. The first day is believed to be the creation of the Vesica Piscis, then the creation of the Tripod of Life on the second day, followed by one sphere added for each subsequent day until all seven spheres construct the Seed of Life on the sixth day of Creation. The seventh day is the day of rest, known as the “Sabbath” or “Shabbat.”

In the 13th century, a Cabalist group from France succeeded, through geometric interpretation, in dividing the entire Hebrew alphabet into an order using the Seed of Life. The resulting alphabet was remarkably similar to that of the Religious sage Rashi who wrote his commentaries on the Old Testament at that time in France.
